Fair Trade Highlight: Al Nour

Meet the ladies of Al Nour, a fantastic organization in Marrakech, Morocco. One of our committee members had the opportunity to visit Al Nour last month…what a delight! Women with handicaps are paid fair wages for their {beautiful} work. They also receive on-the-job training in handicrafts and administrative tasks.

Further, employees have access to healthcare, {on-site} childcare, and retirement benefits. Workshops are held to determine individual strengths, such as sewing, public relations, customer service, etc.

The 5-7 year plan for Al Nour is to turn the company over to the employees, thereby assuring complete autonomy. Fair Trade Atlanta salutes Al Nour for their exempleary devotion to social justice practice
