Great News for a Fair Trade Atlanta Focus Neighborhood
Fair Trade Atlanta recently named Clarkston, a small suburb, our current focus area. Clarkston is an amazing place that is known for the majority refugee population. The New York Times called it “the most diverse square mile in America”. Recently, we have teamed up with several local businesses and the mayor in order to help Clarkston meet campaign requirements. However, Clarkston is not just supporting human rights in supply chains by supporting fair trade. They became the first city in Georgia to pass a $15 minimum wage! A Georgia law makes it so this can only apply to public sector employees. However, this is great news for Clarkston and great news for a living wage
